The mission of the archaeology faculty at CSULB is to develop one of the finest archaeology education and research programs in the country that is dedicated to scientific investigations of the archaeological record. Our goal is to be regionally, nationally and internationally recognized for our contributions in the training of undergraduate and graduate students, in the development of archaeological theory, in the application of innovative methodological approaches, and in the generation of consequential empirical results. We seek to develop exceptional educational opportunities for our students and to be leaders in the development of scientific approaches to the study of the past.
