LEARN FREE OF CHARGE!!!

in the Intensive Immersion Language Program
of the Southern Consortium of California State Universities, offering a unique opportunity to develop professional language skills that are currently much in demand and will jump-start your résumé.

Students who are accepted into this highly competitive program will devote six weeks during CSU summer 2007 in residential immersion programs either in Arabic (San Bernardino), Mandarin Chinese (Long Beach), Persian (Fullerton), or in a non-residential program in Korean (Los Angeles).  This learning experience will be followed in academic year 2007-08 with a set of individualized courses in the target language with relevance to the student’s major on the home campus. A 6-week study abroad project during summer 2008 culminates the program.
All expenses are paid (instruction, books, room and board, overseas travel). Selected participants must commit to fully apply themselves to the goals of the program and to follow it to completion. Heritage speakers are encouraged to apply. A "heritage speaker" is a student who is raised in a home where a non-English language is spoken, who speaks or merely understands the heritage language, and who is to some degree bilingual in English and the heritage language.
