Admission into the CSULB Graduate Program in Sport Management will be based on students' composite profile (GPA, GRE, coursework, and sport related experience):

1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited institution.
2. A minimum cumulative undergraduate grade point average (GPA) of 2.75. Admission into the CSULB Graduate Program in Sport Management is competitive.
3. A minimum score of 145 on the verbal test, 145 on the quantitative test, and 3.5 on the analytical writing test of the Graduate Record Examination (GRE).
4. Admission into the CSULB Graduate Program in Sport Management occurs twice a year (during the Fall and Spring terms).

Note: Admissions into the CSULB Graduate Program in Sport Management is not only highly competitive, but also limited by space availability. Therefore, in some cases, a student meeting the minimum admission requirements may not be accepted into the Program

What Do You Have to Do?

STEP 1:

• Complete the CSU Mentor Online Application
  • Apply on-line at www.csumentor.edu
  • Program Code 1233; "Special Sessions Master's" program
  • Term applying for:  select the correct term.
  • Then click on the box “Select a campus and Major”:
  • Select “Special Sessions Degree Program’ then click “Set Campus”.
  • Intended Major box will appear.  Select ‘KPE Sport Management MA’, then click ‘Set Major’.
  • Go to Degree Objective, select ‘MA’.
    • Applications open on CSU Mentor on the following dates
    • applying for spring: August 1 of previous year
    • applying for fall: October 1 of previous year
• Send in GRE Scores
  • Minimum score of 145 on the verbal test, 145 on the quantitative test; Analytical: 3.5
  • Mail code at test center to be sent to CSULB: 4389
  • Results may follow after the application deadline
• Send in Official Transcripts
  • A set of ALL official transcripts of ALL undergraduate and graduate academic work

Complete the Following:

• Statement of Purpose (See template in PDF format)
• Three completed reference forms (Download PDF fill-and-print form)
• Resume
• Proof of GRE with a minimum score of 145 on the quantitative and 145 on the verbal sections and 3.5 on the analytical section ( scores sent to Diane Higgs may be unofficial)
