ESPN Productions, X Games
Anthony Dittmann graduated from San Diego State University in 1997 with a bachelor’s degree in Communications. Following graduation, Anthony worked for the San Diego Chargers until 1998. Since then, he has been working for ESPN in several capacities, all involving the design, construction and management of ESPN-owned events, presently as the Director of Operations. Primarily, this consists of the X Games which has blossomed into ESPN’s largest annual production with up to 10 international events planned yearly in countries such as the UAE, South Africa, Argentina, Mexico, Canada, China and England. Domestically, it dwarfs most annual televised events with a total staff of 1500, 400 of which are TV personnel, which equates to being ten times the production of an NFL football game. In 2005, the X Games was honored with a National Gala Award from Special Events Magazine for Best Achievement in Logistics, beating competition from the likes of NASCAR. The X Games has also won three Sports Travel Awards as the Best Multi-Sport or Multidiscipline Event and seven EMMYS. Anthony was a former adjunct professor in the sport business graduate program at University of San Francisco, Orange County and at California State University, Long Beach.
