Ayla Donlin, M.S. - Director of the LifeFit Center @ The Beach
Ayla Donlin obtained her undergraduate degree in Psychology and Business from Concordia College in Moorhead, MN. She then moved to warm and sunny California to pursue her Master of Science degree in Kinesiology from CSULB. Upon receiving her Master’s degree, Ayla became a lecturer in the Kinesiology department and has been teaching courses for the past five years in the Fitness and Sport Studies options. Ayla is currently pursuing her Educational Doctorate in Educational Leadership from CSULB.
Ayla has been active in the fitness industry for about 10 years as a group fitness instructor, personal trainer, group fitness director, and health club general manager. She is currently an American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) certified personal trainer and works with Johnny G. and Matrix Fitness as an International Educational Representative for the Johnny G. Krankcycle ® by Matrix. She has traveled to locations like Singapore and Germany to instruct fitness professionals on the use and benefits of the Krankcycle®.
As a passion and hobby, Ayla has organized, led, and participated in over 50 hours of Spin-a-thon/Krank-a-thon fundraisers benefitting various organizations like Project VisAbility and the John Tracey Clinic.
Heather Mazzei- Programs Coordinator
Heather Mazzei is the Program Coordinator for the LifeFit Center @ The Beach! She is a recent graduate of the California State Unviersity, Long Beach Kinesiology Fitness department and is grateful to be working at her alumni campus. Health and wellness continue to pervade her life as she follows her passion in inspiring and teaching others to make fitness a lifestyle instead of a side job. Heather is a certified strength and conditioning specialist as well as a certified personal trainer through the NSCA and enjoys watching people’s bodies and minds change as a result of exercise. She is a former dancer in the CSULB program and currently teaches ZUMBA for the CSULB Student Recreation & Wellness Center. She loves stretching, the Krankcycle, and her dog Shellee. Heather hopes to increase awareness of the many benefits that come with exercise and to make a difference in the community that has given her so much. Tim Trefts - Operations & Marketing Coordinator
Tim earned his Master Degree in Sport Management from California State University, Long Beach (CSULB) in the summer of 2012. He earned 4.0 Awards Honors as well as the Sport Management programs 110% Award. Tim has worked for CSULB in the Athletics Pyramid Management, the Association of Volleyball Professionals, the San Diego Padres, where he was the Employee of the Year in 2009, and San Diego State University Athletics Marketing. Tim also received a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing from San Diego State in 2008.
