Susana Salas

Biographical Information

Professor Salas has considerable social work experience in the area of community mental health with children and families as well as Latino mental health. Professor Salas has also taught courses on the faculty of CSULB Social Work since 2004.  Currently, she teaches field education courses, and has developed field trainings and events and serves as the MSW full time student consultant for the Title IV-E Child Welfare Training education awardees.  Professor Salas' macro interests include social policy and legislative change including the coordination of CSULB student involvement and participation in the annual NASW Legislative Lobby Days held in Sacramento.  She is actively involved in the Southern California Native American Community advocating for Native American cultural and spiritual rites including the preservation of sacred sites.
