Professor Peyer has been on the faculty at CSULB since 1994. Stacey teaches the Integrative Field Seminar and serves as Field Liaison for graduate students. She previously worked with emotionally disturbed and incarcerated adolescents and maintains an interest in foster care and adoption, with a particular emphasis on transracial adoption and multicultural issues. Stacey is especially dedicated in her teaching to the development of self awareness through the field experience. She believes that narrative writing about our work contributes to this self awareness, can be an important part of self care and a great teaching resource as well. She has been published a three times in “Reflections: Narratives of Professional Helping.” She frequently presents on work with lesbian/gay/bisexual clients and on the management of homophobia in social work agencies. Stacey has appeared on radio and television programs addressing these issues. From 2001-2007, she was the chair of the Training Subcommittee of the Task Force to End Homophobia in the L.A. County Department of Children & Family Services & Probation.
