Dr. Lopez entered academia after a decade of work as a Congressional Aide. She has extensive experience in macro practice in community organizing, civic involvement and local political empowerment. She teaches in the areas of human behavior, policy and research at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Administrative responsibilities as Associate Director include serving as Coordinator of Academic Programs, as well as Graduate Advisor for the Department’s 600 Master’s level students. Publications have focused on cultural issues related to ethnic minority populations and their behaviors and belief systems. She is considered an expert lecturer on immigration policy and immigrant adjustment.
