Dr. Lisa Jennings joined the CSULB Social Work Faculty in Fall 2009. In her social work practice, she specialized in gerontological social work for over 13 years in the public and private sectors. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Alabama and Texas. Her research interests include gerontological healthcare, prison healthcare issues, mental health issues in the older adult population, long-distance caregiving, and social support for older adults, and pedagogical issues in social work education. Prior to joining the CSULB faculty, she taught at the School of Social Work at the University of Texas at Austin, and the University of Alabama. Dr. Jennings was a John A. Hartford Foundation Doctoral Fellow in Geriatric Social Work from 2007-2009. She serves as a Faculty Mentor in the Partners for Success program here at CSULB. She is a member of the Geriatric Social Work Education Consortium (GSWEC). She currently teaches courses in Social Work Practice with Groups (CYF and OAF), Social Work Practice with Older Adults and Families, Foundations for Generalist and Multicultural Social Work Practice, Policy, HBSE and supervises Thesis projects. Dr. Jennings serves as the School's Undergraduate Program Director.
