Catherine Goodman

Biographical Information

Dr. Catherine Goodman has considerable research experience in the field of aging and geriatrics. She has co-authored the Archstone Foundation Award to fund statewide projects of the CalSWEC Aging Initiative ($655,000). She has also co-authored the Archstone award for the Aging Summit. Over her career, she has been awarded approximately $2 million for research and curriculum development projects, including a research grant from the National Institute on Aging to study grandmothers raising grandchildren throughout Los Angeles County and an award from CalSWEC for curriculum development.   She has been involved in the Kinship Care Coordinating Council of the LA City Department of Aging, Area Agency on Aging and has organized five conferences on kinship issues in collaboration with Grandparents As Parents. In terms of teaching, she has focused on taught social work practice, research, and thesis for over 25 years.
