Fieldwork*

Reflections welcomes manuscripts for inclusion in our 2012 special issue focusing on Fieldwork.  We welcome perspectives from individual authors and co-authors to write about your experiences in the education of students outside the classroom and in the field.  In social work, for example, articles could come from Field Directors, Field Instructors, Field Faculty Liaisons, Preceptors, Agency Directors who invite interns into their agencies and, of course, student interns themselves.  Co-authors with reciprocal perspectives are welcomed, such as a student and field instructor.

Suggested topics include (but are not limited to):

  • General reflections from fieldwork experiences
  • Educating students for fieldwork
  • Ethics and fieldwork
  • Development of the professional self in fieldwork
  • “ A Funny Thing Happened at the Internship”
  • Challenges for fieldwork
  • Creating and/or funding innovative fieldwork programs
  • Fieldwork in on-line and distance education programs
