This Fall 2009, the CSULB Department of Social Work will welcome three new Assistant Professor faculty members to our outstanding faculty. Joining us will be Lisa Jennings, Ph.D., Stephan Buckingham, Ph.D., and Maria Gurrola, Ph.D.
Dr. Maria Gurrola is from Arizona State University, School of Social Work and her research experience is with Latinos and transnational communities.
Dr. Stephan Buckingham is from the University of Louisville, Kent School of Social Work and his work is with neurocognitive disorders and occupational persistence for people with HIV.
Dr. Lisa Jennings is from the University of Alabama, School of Social Work, where she conducted research on older prisoner health and mental health care.
We are proud to welcome Dr. Jennings, Dr. Gurrola, and Dr. Buckingham to our current faculty whose commitment to teaching and research define excellence in social work education.
