The Master of Social Work application deadline is February 15, 2013. The School of Social Work will start accepting applications after October 1, 2012. Applications will not be accepted after the deadline.
If applying to the Advanced Standing program, the WPE, TOEFL, and any pending prerequisites must be completed by the end of the spring semester or June 1st .
Applicants are required to apply to the University (www.csumentor.edu) as well as to the School of Social Work and we require applicants to apply to the University first, then to the School of Social Work once a CSULB student identification number has been issued to the applicant and the application is in Department Review. Admission to the School of Social Work is contingent upon admission to the University by Enrollment Services. (Please see the Application Process document.)
Prospective students are encouraged to attend one of the School of Social Work's information meetings (see link "Information Meetings"). These events are held on campus twice a month beginning in October through February. Please continue to check the website periodically for updates!
Fully assemble your application at the time of submission. Incomplete applications will not be processed. Incomplete applicants will be notified via email and have until the deadline of February 15th to complete the documents. If applicantions are receive on the deadline incomplete, applicants have five (5) days from notification to complete their documents. Fully assembled applications include:
A complete School of Social Work application can be submitted even though an applicant has not completed the Elementary Statistics prerequisite; however, the applicant must indicate on the application that the prerequisite course is in progress or indicate the semester/quarter that the course will be taken. Due to administrative reasons, we will not consider an applicant who needs to complete the prerequisite during the summer prior to the fall semester that the program begins.
