Things to consider before filling out the application

Carefully read the entire application!! Applicants are expected to provide complete and accurate information.

The Master of Social Work application deadline is the second Friday in April. The department will start accepting applications after September 11 th . Applications will not be accepted after the deadline.

If applying to the Summer Block or Advanced Standing programs, the WPE, TOEFL, and any pending prerequisites must be completed by the end of the spring semester or June 1st . The application deadline for these programs is March 1st .

Applicants are required to apply to the University (csumentor.edu) as well as to the Social Work Department and we recommend that applicants apply to both simultaneously. Admission to the department is contingent upon admission to the University by Enrollment Services.

Prospective students are encouraged to attend one of the Department's information meetings (listed above). These events are held on campus twice a month beginning in September through March. Please continue to check the website periodically for updates!!

Fully assemble your application at the time of submission. Incomplete applications will not be processed. Fully assembled applications include:

  • Department application;
  • Personal Statement;
  • Three reference forms (letters are optional);
  • Transcripts from every college or university attended.

Complete the Elementary Statistics prerequisite during the fall or spring term prior to entering the program. Anyone needing to complete the prerequisite during the summer should apply the following year to the program.
