MSW Admissions News & Updates

 

FALL 2013 APPLICANTS: Please read each item carefully to ensure a successful application process!

The School of Social Work application cycle for the 2013-14 academic year begins October 1st. Please be sure to follow the guidelines below:

  1. An applicant must apply to CSULB University Enrollment Services (U.E.S.) before submitting an application to the School of Social Work. Official transcripts must be submitted to U.E.S..
  2. A School of Social Work application can be submitted when a CSULB student identification number has been issued to the applicant through U.E.S. and the application is ready for Department Review.
  3. U.E.S. and the School of Social Work receives applications to the graduate program from October 1st through February 1st. The deadline to submit transcripts to U.E.S. is March 1st.
  4. The MSW application deadline for U.E.S. and the School of Social Work and is February 1st.
  5. Only complete applications are reviewed. A complete application includes the School of Social Work application, current resume, personal statement, three (3) reference forms (letters can be attached), and a copy of the course syllabus for the elementary statistics prerequisite. Incomplete applications that are submitted to the School of Social Work are returned via mail.

FALL 2012 APPLICANTS: Status Updates and Reapplication Info

UPDATES

The School of Social Work does not provide status updates on submitted applications via email or phone. The process can take upwards of three months, depending on your status with the University.

REAPPLICATION

The admissions office will retain application material from the Fall 2012 applicant pool. To reapply in the future, be sure to do the following:

  1. Submit a request in writing that states your intention to reapply for Fall 2013. We will retain your previous application folder upon receipt of your request, otherwise files are recycled at the end of the Fall 2012 admissions cycle.
  2. Submit a Fall 2013 university application to CSULB Enrollment Services. Submit required documentation to the University.
  3. Complete a Fall 2013 School of Social Work application and submit it to the admissions unit with any other material that you would like to update in your application packet (i.e. personal statement or reference letter(s). Be sure to indicate what material you want to replace in your Fall 2012 application packet. Please Note: This information will be updated via email and on this website, please check back to see if it has changed.
