Scholarly and Creative Interests:
Dr. Galvan’s community-based research explores ways in which service-learning projects can enhance knowledge for students, underserved youth, faculty, and the community at large. Her research utilizes critical inquiry to focus on effective teaching principles in physical education while serving populations in need. Fitness, nutrition, and personal and social responsibility are the mechanisms used to reach, teach, and empower students. Both qualitative and quantitative paradigms are used to determine program outcomes.
