APE Student Teaching Manual
The purpose of the student teaching experience is to provide the prospective teacher with an opportunity to observe, develop, and practice teaching skills in adapted physical education (APE). This is usually the culminating and most important experience in your professional preparation program toward receiving the Adapted Physical Education Specialist Credential. The information developed in this manual includes all the necessary material and is designed assure that your time student teaching is a positive experience.
University APE Credential Online Application Directions

This form provides detailed directions for students making online application to the APE Specialist Credential Program only. This application needs to be completed in order to be accepted into the University and the APE Specialist program. Admission deadlines for Fall semester is June 1st and Spring semester is November 1st.
Kinesiology APE Application
This form is to be completed by candidates for the APE Specialist Credential Program only and mailed to The APE Specialist Coordinator in the Kinesiology department.

APE Specialist Program Candidates Signature Form
The APE Specialist Program Candidates Signature form is a contract between the candidate and APE Specialist Coordinator regarding the course work needed to successful meet all course work requirements to receive the California APE Specialist Credential. This is the signature form that candidates will provide to the CSULB Single Subject credential office upon successfully completing the program.
APE Specialist Student Exit Survey & Self report of Perceived Learning Outcomes
This is a survey developed by the APE Specialist Program in the Department of Kinesiology used to identify the major learning outcomes students need while preparing to teach APE in the public schools. Please respond to the survey by going to the following website listed below and answering the questions on the survey. APE Specialist Teaching Portfolio Notebook
Each candidate must submit an APE Teaching Portfolio notebook to the Department APE Specialist Coordinator as part of successfully completing the APE Specialist program. Included are the directions to complete the notebook and the grade rubric the insructor will use to evaluate the materials.
