Requirements for a Minor in

Criminal Justice

Minor Code: CRIMUM01

The minor in Criminal Justice requires 21 units, which includes:

15 units of CORE (3 units lower division and 12 units upper division) and 6 units of UPPER DIVISION CRIMINAL JUSTICE ELECTIVES.

CRIM 101, OR ITS EQUIVALENT, must be taken prior to declaring the minor or enrolling in any upper division CORE course.

A grade of "C" or higher is required in all CORE courses.

What You Must Complete

Required Criminal Justice CORE Courses (15 units required)

  1. CRIM 101: The Criminal Justice System in Society or its equivalent from a Crommunity College or University
  2. CRIM 351: Adjudication Process in Criminal Justice
  3. CRIM 404: Theories of Crime, Causation, Prevention and Control.
  4. CRIM 468: Correctional Systems
  5. CRIM 483: Enforcement Systems

Required Criminal Justice ELECTIVES (6 units required)

MUST BE UPPER DIVISION CRIM

Select CRIM 300-499 (courses not used in the Core).

Note: Courses taken at a Community College do not count as upper division courses.
