The CSULB Speech, Language and Hearing Clinic is a University based clinic which provides comprehensive diagnostic and therapeutic services for children and adults who have communicative disorders such as the following:
In order to serve clients in the most informed manner possible, all new clients to the Clinic are requested to complete a questionnaire and submit any pertinent medical, school or other evaluation and/or therapy records prior to being scheduled for services. To obtain a questionnaire, please call (562) 985-4583.
The Clinic enrolls clients for speech/language therapy according to the university calendar for the Fall and Spring semesters. Individual therapy sessions are typically scheduled for 50 minutes two times a week.
Master's level students, training to become professional speech, language or hearing specialists, provide all evaluation and therapy services under the direct supervision of faculty instructors who are nationally certified, and licensed by the State of California.
Regular, punctual attendance by clients is essential for maximum benefit from the therapy experience. For this reason, more than three client absences may result in a client being dropped from the program.
In view of the educational training nature of the Speech, Language and Hearing Clinic, the Clinic reserves the right to enroll or not to enroll an individual based upon the Clinic staff's professional judgment of what best meets the needs of the client and/or the training program.
