Conditionally Classified Graduate Student Admission Information

If you do not have a baccalaraurreate degree (B.A.) in Communicative Disorders or a related field, you will need to follow a different procedure:
  1. YOU MUST APPLY TO THE UNIVERSITY THROUGH THE OFFICE OF ADMISSIONS AND RECORDS. Please note that the Admissions office requires a set of official transcripts. You can obtain a CSU Graduate Application by calling the Office of Admissions and Records at (562)985-5505 or apply online at www.csumentor.edu.
  2. YOU MUST APPLY SEPARATELY TO THE DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNICATIVE DISORDERS. Write a letter to the graduate advisor of the Department of Communicative Disorders and request admission as a ACONDITIONALLY CLASSIFIED GRADUATE STUDENT@. Include an official copy of your transcript which shows the posting of your B.A. degree and your GPA (this is in addition to the transcript requested by the Admissions Office).

    Please note, documents submitted will not be forwarded to and/or from either department.
  3. The graduate advisor will review your request and transcript. If you meet the requirements for admission you will be notified in writing within 4-6 weeks after the March 1 deadline.
  4. Upon acceptance to the department, you will be assigned a department advisor who will help you with your academic planning throughout the semesters.
  5. 33 units of prerequisites are required prior to applying to the Graduate Program for a Master Degree (M.A.) in Speech-Language Pathology. Once you have completed at least 33 units of the requirements, you may apply to the graduate program in our department.

MARCH 1st FOR FALL ADMISSION (Annually)

ALL LETTERS AND TRANSCRIPTS MUST BE RECEIVED IN THE DEPARTMENT OFFICE BY THE DEADLINE DATE TO BE CONSIDERED.
