Global Issues (G) Courses
Three (3) units required
- Global Issues courses:
- Introduce cultures and places beyond the boundaries of the USA
- Provide an opportunity to explore worldviews that often contrast greatly with those of our own Western tradition
Finding Global Issues Courses
- Go to the Schedule of Classes
- Choose the appropriate term
- Click on the “GE Requirement” button
- Scroll to the bottom, under “Additional GE Course Requirements”
- Click on “Global Issues” to view all courses that satisfy the global issues requirement
Finding Global Issues courses that fulfill a specific GE category
- Go to the Schedule of Classes
- Choose the appropriate term
- Click on the “GE Requirement” button
- Click on the GE category that you are missing (example: Literature – GE Category C2a). Note: All courses listed satisfy the literature requirement, but not all are global issues.
- On the right side, look at the “GE Designation” for each course. Courses that have a “G” or “Global” satisfy both your global issues requirement and GE literature requirement.
Finding Global Issues courses that “double count” as Global Issues & Capstone
- Go to the Schedule of Classes
- Choose the appropriate term
- Click on the “GE Requirement” button
- Scroll to the bottom, under “Additional GE Course Requirements”
- Click on “Capstone – Interdisciplinary”
- On the right side, look at the “GE Designation” for each course. Courses that have a “G” or “Global” satisfy both your global issues requirement and one capstone requirement.
- If needed, you may also search in the “Capstone – Advanced Skills” and “Capstone – Service Learning” categories to find a global issues/capstone course.
Finding Global Issues & Capstone courses that fulfill a specific GE category
- Go to the Schedule of Classes
- Choose the appropriate term
- Click on the “GE Requirement” button
- Click on the GE category that you are missing (example: Literature – GE Category C2a).
- To find capstone/global issues courses, look at the “GE Designation” for each course (on the right). Courses that have the following designations are capstones:
- Courses that also have either a “G” or “Global” satisfy your GE literature requirement, one capstone requirement, and your global issues requirement.
