Application Process
  1. Review Timeline, Information details, & Required documents for Award and/or Scholarship(s).
  2. Complete SCPD Awards & Scholarships Application online.
  3. Complete any other document/material(s) required for Award and/or Scholarship(s).
  4. Email <scpd@csulb.edu> or submit to SCPD office CBA 126 your Application & other required documents as attachments or scanned documents. You must include in the email Subject Title, "SCPD Awards & Scholarships Application.”
  5. Sign-up for Practice Presentation and/or Showcase Oral Presentation

Awards  

PROFESSIONAL EXCELLENCE AWARD

This award recognizes up to three to four exceptional students who most effectively articulates and displays through written and oral presentation their personal and professional development as an SCPD participant. Each recipient will receive a monetary award starting for the first place winner at $500 or more at the SCPD Awards Event.

Criteria Information:

  • Any SCPD student in EL, BEC, CS, CCMP, CL, & CMP
  • Overall GPA 2.5

Application Information:

  • Application Form with Written proposal of your Oral Presentation - DUE 3/10
  • Written proposal of your Oral Presentation - DUE 3/10
  • Oral Presentation Dates - Sign-up for a 20 to 30-minute time slot at SCPD Office CBA 126 or by email.
        • Friday, March 19th from 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. in CBA 237C
        • Monday, March 22nd from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. in CBA 200
        • Wed., March 24th from 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. in CBA 230

LEADERSHIP IN ACTION AWARD

This award recognizes 1-2 exceptional students for their contributions and service to the Student Center for Professional Development, the College of Business Administration (CBA), California State University, Long Beach and/or the community. Recipients will receive the highest recognition at the SCPD Awards Event.

Criteria Information:

  • SCPD student & Senior CBA student
  • Demonstrated leadership skills through service and co-curricular activities

Application Information:

  • Selected students nominated by SCPD staff & Board Members as well as CBA staff & faculty.
    • Nomination by email
  • Application Form with One-page Letter of Interest - DUE 3/10
    • One-page Letter of Interest should describe your interest in the award.
  • Top applicants will be interviewed by selection committee from SCPD and CBA during the week of 3/15-3/24.
    • Wed., March 17th from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. in CBA 200

DIRECTOR’S AWARD

This award recognizes up to three to four exceptional students who demonstrated personal and professional growth for the past year. Recipients will receive recognition by the SCPD Director at the SCPD Awards Event.

Criteria Information:

  • Current SCPD student
  • Demonstrated growth in student and/or professional development.

Scholarships

FINANCIAL EXECUTIVES INTERNATIONAL SCHOLARSHIP

This SCPD award, in partnership with Financial Executives International (FEI), recognizes up to two exceptional students in Finance & Accountancy who demonstrate how FEI values apply to their personal and professional life. Each recipient will receive an award of at least $500 or more at the SCPD Awards Event.

Criteria Information:

  • CBA student in Finance and/or Accounting
  • SCPD students in Finance and/or Accounting
    • HIGHLY ENCOURAGED TO APPLY
  • Overall cumulative GPA of 2.5
