At the end of the academic year SCPD recognizes students for outstanding achievement in professional development, excellence in accounting and finance and overall excellence in their academic and personal lives. Winners in these categories receive a monetary award which may vary depending on CBA and SCPD budgetary circumstances at the time. It is possible that in any given year the recognition may only be in the form of a certificate.
This year students will submit their application to be considered for an award during the last two weeks of November. All applications to be considered must be received by SCPD no later than 5:00 pm Friday December 18, 2011. Students are responsible throughout the year for engaging in the activities that qualify them for the award and documenting those activities. Award winners are selected in April based on an essay with supporting documentation that discusses the student’s achievement in the respective category. After submission of the essays and documentation applicants will then give a 7 – 10 minute oral presentation to a panel of judges explaining why they are deserving of the respective award. Please see timeline for due dates.
