Program Application Process
The Student Center for Professional Development (SCPD) provides CSULB College of Business Administration (CBA) undergraduate students resources and programs that help them develop leadership skills, career planning, academic success and civic engagement. We coordinate multiple programs, events, workshops and community service activities that connect SCPD students to other students, to the campus, to the community and to the corporate world. Through mentoring relationships, we hope to develop meaningful learning experiences for both students and mentors. SCPD provides resources and opportunities help business students prepare for a successful career.
TIME COMMITMENT & RESPONSIBILITIES
SCPD provides a variety of opportunities for students to become involved with the Center at different levels. The amount of commitment expected from our students can vary, but if you commit to our events or programs, then you will be expected to actively participate and fulfill the requirements in order to receive your certificate.
BENEFITS OF MEMBERSHIP
SCPD members have access to all sponsored SCPD workshops and events. We also provide our members with mentoring, service-learning, and networking opportunities. With an SCPD membership, students will have a chance to meet and form professional relationships with a variety of corporate and community professionals who work for companies and organizations such as Boeing, Target, UPS as well as the City of Long Beach, Port of Long Beach, and the Internal Revenue Service. We also provide opportunities for our students to develop professional skills and attributes such as business etiquette, interviewing techniques, teambuilding, leadership and others
