Program Applications

Steps to Applying to SCPD Programs:

  1. Read Overview & Meet Application Requirements.
  2. Complete online SCPD Program Application & SCPD Student Profile Survey to collect your personal information then assess your professional skills. Acrobat Icon
  3. Email <scpd@csulb.edu> your current Cover Letter & Resume as attachments no later than one week after completing the online application.
    ** Please include in the email Subject Title, "SCPD-BEC Program Application Documents." **
  4. BEC applicants must sign up and attend a BEC Orientation first.

The Student Center for Professional Development (SCPD) provides CSULB College of Business Administration (CBA) undergraduate students resources and programs that help them develop leadership skills, career planning, academic success and civic engagement. We coordinate multiple programs, events, workshops and community service activities that connect SCPD students to other students, to the campus, to the community and to the corporate world. Through mentoring relationships, we hope to develop meaningful learning experiences for both students and mentors. SCPD provides resources and opportunities that support business students from college entry to graduation.

SCPD provides a variety of opportunities for students to become involved with the Center at different levels
of intensity. The amount of commitment expected from our students can vary, but if you commit to our events or programs, then you will be expected to actively participate and fulfill the requirements.

SCPD members have access to all sponsored SCPD workshops and events. We also provide our members with mentoring, service- learning, and networking opportunities. With an SCPD membership, students will have a chance to meet and form professional relationships with a variety of corporate and community professionals who work for companies and organizations such as Boeing, Target, UPS as well as the City of Long Beach, Port of Long Beach, and the Internal Revenue Service. We also provide opportunities for our students to learn business etiquette, interviewing techniques, and to create a professional resume, cover letter, and portfolio.

APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS                                                                                                                 top
To become an SCPD member, students must:
• Be a full time CSULB undergraduate student
• Be a declared Business major or Pre-Business
• Have a preferred minimum GPA of 2.0
