Thank you for visiting the Student Center for Professional Development (formerly known as Mentoring Business Program - MBP) website. Hopefully, you can take a few minutes to explore our various programs and events offered to CSULB undergraduate business students.
SCPD creates meaningful ways for community members and business professionals to connect to the university. In turn, the program hopes to connect CSULB students to the community. This year, the National Association of Student Personnel Administration (NASPA) has recognized SCPD with two national excellence awards:
- The Gold Award
This award recognizes SCPD as the best careers, academic support, service-learning, and community service program in the country. - The Grand Bronze Award
This award recognizes SCPD as the third best overall student affairs program in the country.
The Program
The Student Center for Professional Development (SCPD) fosters the academic, personal, professional, and leadership development and knowledge acquisition of CSULB College of Business Administration undergraduate students. SCPD provides resources and opportunities that support business students from college entry to graduation. SCPD coordinates multiple programs, events, workshops and community service activities that connect the university to the community and vice versa. Ultimately, the program hopes to inspire and enable students to be better individuals, students, professionals, leaders and global citizens.
