Contributions to Scholarships Sets New Record
Thanks to the generosity of our donors and matching funds from the College of Business Administration, over $100,000 was awarded in scholarships and awards to our students during the 2008-09 academic year. This is a new record for scholarships and comes at a time when record numbers of students and families are struggling to pay tuition. Scholarships remove economic barriers that prevent our most promising students from reaching their dreams of a college degree.
During the CBA Awards Banquet, Dean Michael E. Solt acknowledged and congratulated all of the scholarship and award recipients. Several donors attended the event and met the recipients of the scholarships they funded. Solt thanked the donors noting, “The direct support that scholarships provide ensures our most outstanding students continue and complete their education. Our donors and supporters understand that education is the best investment there is, no matter what the economic forecast.”
