A Business Administration degree with a Human Resource Management concentration prepares the graduate for entry level professional positions ultimately leading to satisfying careers in HRM. Graduates have a strong functional HRM perspective with the behavioral skills to work effectively as HR professionals. Also, the degree develops excellent computer skills.
Upon graduation, the HRM major will find satisfying and challenging careers in HRM, including employment, compensation, training and development. Career paths lead from technical HR jobs to positions in senior HR management, such as Manager of Compensation, VP of Labor Relations, Director of Employment and others. Our undergradute program is known throughout Southern California and beyond for the high qualiy of our graduates who are employed in significant HR positions at such companies as Fluor Daniel, McDonnell Douglas, Mitsubishi, PacifiCare, Memorial Medical Center of Long Beach, Unisys, Sony, Allergan, Orange County Transit Authority, Qualex, Arrowhead Products.
In turn, these companies provide outstanding, experienced executives as Adjunct Faculty. An outstanding student chapter of PIHRA, the Association of Human Resource Professionals, provides our students with scholarships, internships, opportunity for leadership roles and contact with HRM professionals. An Advisory Board of senior HRM executives provides advice and support to our program.
