Information on Transfer Credit, Withdrawal, and Course Substitution
Transfer Credit
- Go to the Advisement Center, CBA 105 [Phone: (562) 985-4514].
- To determine if a course taken at another college or university meets a lower division course requirement for the business major, pick-up a "Transfer Credit Articulation Grid."
Withdrawal/Drop Request
- Get the "Withdrawal" or "Drop" forms from Brotman Hall or the CBA Dean's Suite (CBA 200).
- Fill in all the blanks.
- Obtain the instructor's signature and the Marketing Department Chair's signature.
- Return forms to Brotman Hall 101.
Course Petition or Substitution [Upper Division Major Courses]
Marketing Majors
- Go to the Advisement Center, CBA 105.
- Get the "Petition for Substitution" form from the Advisement Center, CBA 105.
- Fill out the form and return it to the Advisement Center, CBA 105.
- The Advisement Center will forward the form to the Marketing Department Secretary, CBA 354, for signature approval by the Chair.
- The Marketing Department will then return the form back to the Advisement Center.
Marketing Minors
- Get the "Change in Marketing Minor Contract" form from the Marketing Department, CBA 354.
- Fill out the form and return it to the Marketing Department Secretary CBA 354, for signature approval by the Chair.
- The Marketing Department will then return the form back to Enrollment Services/Admissions & Records, SS/AD 123.
Directed Studies
- Go to the Advisement Center, CBA 105, to obtain the "Directed Studies Information Sheet".
- Read the Directed Studies Information Sheet.
- Get the "Agreement for Independent Study Course" form from the Marketing Department and fill it out.
- Find a Marketing Faculty member who would be interested in working with you.
- Get the Faculty member's signature.
- Return the form to the Marketing Department, CBA 354, and obtain your own copy of the agreement.
NOTES:
If the student is a Marketing major and he/she wants to substitute a MKTG497 for a course required for his/her option, he/she needs to file a "Petition for Substitution". These are handled the same way as the other petitions for majors.
Registration for MKTG497 is limited to "Permission of Department". Therefore, before a student can enroll over the Voice Response Registration (VRR) system, the department secretary needs to contact the Advisement Center so they can "authorize" the student.
