What Graduates Say About Our Programs
Bachelor Degree Program Testimonials
My marketing curricula allowed me contact with some of the best professors in the CBA and the opportunity to engage myself in diverse, challenging, and rewarding learning environments. The professors I met changed the way I approach business, both from my small business perspective and from a larger corporate perspective - I would not have been able to be as successful without their guidance. Every student I met challenged me to be a better student and businessperson: I strongly recommend a marketing degree from CSULB to anyone who is looking for an outstanding return on investment.
(Peter Vasilion, Marketing Major, CSULB Graduate 2012)
The courses I took within the CSULB Department of Marketing were the perfect introduction into my career. With a strong foundation of core classes, and the ability to choose electives that cater to my interests, these courses gave me the jump-start I needed to begin a career in the marketing field. I feel that the faculty in this department truly cared about my success. I was given projects that helped prepare me for the real world and was challenged by my professors to do nothing but the best. Taking away these aspects and more, I could not have found a college better suited for me to earn my degree.
(Amber Santos, Marketing Major, CSULB Graduate 2012)
As a Theatre Artist, I was a bit apprehensive about taking a business class. But now I realize that the skills that I’ve learned in my marketing classes are so incredibly valuable to not just marketers, but for the artist as well - and for any other career field for that matter. The teaching style of my marketing professors was so hands on and captivating that it made going to the class informative and enjoyable.
(Jessica Garcia, Theatre Arts Major & Marketing Minor)
The marketing undergraduate program at CSULB is a very valuable resource for future business professionals. Many teachers in today’s world are people who know theory, yet have never applied it in the workforce. Unlike the majority, the teachers in this department teach from their own experiences. This allows them to have much impact on each and every student. The best advice i can give is for students to get involved as much as you can! If this is done, you will find what you are most passionate about. I leave you with this: reward and opportunity is only granted to those who take action. If one always takes ethical action, they will venture down a path that leads to greatness..
(Steven D. Osborn, Marketing Major, CSULB Graduate 2012)

The most memorable experience I had in the MBA program at CSULB was working for the Long Beach Aquarium to analyze the possibilities for implementing a green program for businesses in Long Beach. This project had real life meaning, and real life consequences, which made our efforts all the more important.
(Gina Cerchio, MBA Class of 2011)
The outstanding faculty in the CSULB MBA program along with the program's focus on imparting practical and ethical business values has made my learning experience rewarding and worthwhile. Among my most memorable experiences in the MBA program was a business competition simulation in one of my marketing classes. Through this simulation, I learned that well researched decisions made by a focused, cohesive team is vital for the success of any business. Our team members had many disagreements about various marketing decisions, but we learned how to turn our different perspectives into a competitive advantage as we made well-rounded and wise business decisions.
(Matt Sebastian, MBA Class of 2010)
The years I spent at CSULB studying for my MBA were pivotal for my career and for my life. Before I went back to school, I had established a career as a NASA software engineer and researcher, working on amazing projects to explore the solar system. That was terrific fun, but I realized that to broaden my horizons, I needed to learn how business really worked. The CSULB MBA program, with its faculty rich in real-world experience and with a schedule that worked well for those of us with day jobs, was a perfect fit for me. One valuable aspect of the CSULB MBA program was its focus on real-life business. We studied and learned how to tackle problems that can occur in the smallest businesses as well as the largest multinational corporations. This practical, problem-solving approach was vastly more useful to me, as an entrepreneur, than abstract business theory.
Since graduation, I’ve been involved with operating and growing an onging global production sourcing and management company. As an entrepreneur, I use my business education every day. Most of all, the faculty, staff, and fellow students in the program instilled in me a passion for business that will always be a part of me. I fully expect my investment in the CSULB MBA program to give me the freedom to follow my passions and to do what I love.

Chalfant, MBA Class of 2009)
