Dr. Abramis earned his doctorate in psychology, specializing in organization studies, at the University of Michigan, and worked for five years as a research associate and organization consultant at Michigan's Institute for Social Research before becoming a professor at CSULB in 1985. Dr. Abramis' has worked for a wide range of large and small organizations, including firms in high technology, manufacturing, medicine, chemical processing, the public sector, transportation, and information systems.

Teaching Interests: – Organizational behavior and psychology - Leadership - Work motivation - Organization change and development - Human population growth and the environment

Research Interests: - Methods of creating highly motivating work places - Expression, satisfaction, and development of psychological needs in work and organizations - Effects of work stress on job performance and health - Design and management of teams
