Dr. Dana McDaniel Sumpter

Professor Sumpter is an Assistant Professor of Management and HRM. Her research employs a cross-cultural lens in understanding social behavior at work. She has published in Organizational Dynamics and Perspectives on Psychological Science, several book chapters, has been quoted in HR Magazine, and has received research grants from the Center for Innovation Research in Cultural Intelligence and Leadership and the Center for Organizational Research. Previously, she worked as a Vice President of HR at Citigroup, based in New York and Singapore, where she trained executives on managerial skills.

Teaching Interests: Human resource management. Cross-cultural and international management. Organizational behavior. Management and organizational theory.

Research Interests: Social and interpersonal processes in the workplace. Organizational behavior. Cross-cultural management. Human energy at work. Power and empowerment. Relational organizational behavior constructs and processes. Qualitative research.
