Students Enrolling in CBA Classes Through UCES

Students Enrolling in College of Business Administration Classes Through University College Extension Services (UCES) Fall 2007 and Spring 2008

  1. The maximum number of units a student can earn though extension towards the minimum required for graduation is 24. This includes extension credit earned at other colleges and universities.
  2. The undergraduate program in Business Administration is impacted. Therefore students who already have an undergraduate degree who apply to the University to complete a second undergraduate degree are not admissible as Business majors. If your objective is to earn a second bachelors degree you should enroll in a university or college that is not impacted, such as CSU Dominguez Hills.
  3. If you are academically disqualified from CSULB, you must earn “As” and “Bs” to reduce your grade point deficiency. The only exception is if you earned a “D”, “F” or “UW” in your first attempt and earn a “C” or better in your second attempt in the same class. According to the University’s “Repeat/Delete Policy”, the units and grades earned the first time you took the class will be excluded from the calculation of your grade point averages. However, if you fail to earn a “C” or better in your second attempt, the units and grades for all attempts will be included in the calculation of your grade point averages.
  4. An academically disqualified student can be reinstated to the University if he/she takes General Education and major courses through UCES. He/she must reapply and complete an “Application for Reinstatement” by the appropriate deadline. The student must have made up at least half of what his/her grade point deficiency was at the time he/she was disqualified. In addition, the “Application for Reinstatement” must be signed by a major advisor in the CBA Admissions and Advising Center. An advisor will only sign the form if the student meets the CBA admissions requirements. A student with 60 or more units must either have a cumulative grade point average of 2.4 or better or be able to complete his/her major course work by taking six or fewer upper division classes.
  5. Registration priority is give to matriculated students. Enrollments through UCES will only be permitted if there are vacant seats after the first two weeks of classes upon the approval of the instructor and the Associate Dean.
