Services Provided

One of the major goals of the advising center is to provide guidance to undergraduate students from the time they apply to the College until they successfully complete their major program of study. Whether you need assistance with a suitable “Educational Plan,” determining eligibility for admission to the major, or registration problems, our experienced staff is here to assist you. Please explore the various links to learn more about the services we provide.

Individual Advising Appointments can help you

  • Choose or change a business “option”
  • Determine major grade point deficiencies and how to resolve them
  • Develop an Educational Plan
  • Evaluate transfer credit and understand transfer policies
  • Explore other services on campus
  • Plan your next semester’s schedule
  • Prepare a plan to complete major requirements for students identified as “Super Seniors”
  • Prepare “Petition for Substitution” for Study Abroad Programs
  • Remove probationary status to avoid disqualification
  • Understand graduation requirements
  • Understand University policies, especially when there has been a change

Center for Student Success Determines

  • Eligibility for admission to the major, based on impaction criterion for Pre-Business students and students wanting to change their major to Business Administration
  • Eligibility for students who have been disqualified to see if it is reasonable for the student to return and complete a degree in Business Administration
  • Evaluation of lower division major course requirements
  • Major Catalog Year (course requirements for Business Administration majors)
  • The four year, five year and six year “Road Maps” for each CBA option, concentration, and track

Center for Student Success Processes

  • Approval of “Timely Graduation Appeal”
  • “Open University” registration and “Late Registration Request” forms to enforce prerequisites and classroom limits
  • Permits when the system does not recognize that a student has taken the prerequisite
  • “Petition for Equivalency” – lower division major course work
  • “Petition for Substitution” – upper division major course work
  • Registration in undergraduate CBA courses and assist students with registration problems
  • Request for Foreign Language Equivalency (International Business option)
  • Revalidation of upper division courses that are over ten years old at time of graduation

Center for Student Success has Signature Authority to Approve

  • “Educational Leave” requests for undergraduate Business majors
  • Election of the credit/no credit grading option for Business majors or Business courses
  • Pre-approval of students requesting a Business Administration minor

Center for Student Success serves as a “clearing house” for disseminating informational materials and forms

Center for Student Success provides letters from the major advisers for students who are requesting

  • Approval for “Practical Training” from the Immigration and Naturalization Service
  • Financial Aid SAP (Satisfactory Academic Progress)
  • Verification of outstanding major requirements for the Embassy for International students
  • Verification of outstanding major requirements for Public Social Services
