List of Services

Academic Advising Center Coordinates:

  • Registration in undergraduate Business courses
    • Assists students with registration problems in undergraduate CBA courses
    • Authorizes registration during late registration (last two weeks of registration)
  • Revalidation of upper division courses that are over ten years old at time of graduation

Academic Advising Center Determines:

  • Faculty Approval – completion of lower division major course requirements
  • Major Catalog Year (course requirements for Business Administration majors)

Evaluation of admissibility to the upper division Business major

Has signature authority to approve:

  • “Educational Leave” requests for undergraduate Business majors
  • Election of the credit/no credit grading option for Business majors or Business courses
  • Major Declaration of Business Administration
  • Pre approval of students requesting a Business Administration minor

Inform students about services available to them from other University offices:

Makes available paperwork to file:

  • A Grade Appeal
  • “Petition for Equivalency” – lower division major course work
  • “Petition for Substitution” – upper division major course work
  • Request for Repeat/Delete of a Transfer course
  • Request for Foreign Language Equivalency (International Business option)

Prepare referrals for students who need to see the Associate Dean:

  • Memo of support to take Excess Units
  • Various exceptions to CBA policies and procedures

Provide letters from the major advisers for students who are requesting:

  • Approval for “Practical Training” from the Immigration and Naturalization Service
  • Exception of the unit cap for Financial Aid
  • Extended time to take the Writing Proficiency Examination
  • Reinstatement to the University as a Business major after Academic Disqualification
  • Verification of outstanding major requirements for the embassy of international students
  • Waiver of the graduation requirement to pass the Writing Proficiency Exam
