Program Application Deadlines

The College of Education offers 12 Master's Degree and 4 Advanced Credential programs. Deadlines vary by program. There is a two-part application process: 

  • First, you must submit a CSULB Cal State Apply university application. This includes paying the $70 non-refundable application fee. The CSULB Cal State Apply online application closes at midnight Pacific Standard Time on the deadline date. 
  • Then, you will use MyCED to complete the program application. Please know that applicants may work on required program application materials prior to starting your MyCED application. You may find more information about the MyCED application deadline and required program application materials by clicking below on your program of interest and reviewing the "Online Application Submission" section of their website. 

The first day to apply for Fall 2024 admission is October 1, 2023. Please click your program of interest below to view the application deadline and for a link to the program’s website with more information about the application process.

The first day to apply for Spring 2024 admission is August 1, 2023.   Please note that only programs open for Spring 2024 admission: MS in Educational Technology and Media Leadership, Teacher Librarian Services advanced credential, and Master's in K-12 Educational Administration with Preliminary Administrative Services Credential.

Request to be added to the prospective student list for your program of interest. Please visit Graduate Studies Office homepage for our hours of operation, and note that we are not available on the weekends.

 

Prepares therapists for licensed independent practice to work in private practice, community-agency settings, government-court settings, hospitals and clinics, employee assistance programs, and city-county-state agencies to provide counseling services for adults, children, families, and couples.

Prepares teacher leaders and curriculum specialists to develop theoretical understanding and critical analytical skills in the design, implementation, and evaluation of curriculum, instruction, and assessment in K-6 schools.

Prepares teacher leaders and curriculum specialists to develop theoretical understanding and critical analytical skills in the design, implementation, and evaluation of curriculum, instruction, and assessment in 6-12 schools.

Develops instructional leaders who examine literacy and language development of native English speakers, bilingual speakers, English language learners, and speakers of non-standard English in grades K-12 and adult education.

Prepares educators, leaders and policy advocates to understand children from birth to age 8 and management of early childhood organizations in a variety of culturally and linguistically diverse educational settings.

Equips leaders to serve as principals or other school administrators in order to maximize the academic achievement of diverse K-12 grade students in an educational organization.

An interdisciplinary program that utilizes critical approaches to understand and analyze the relationship between education and society–both locally and globally–with an emphasis on effecting social change.

Prepares school counselors to support all students academic, social/emotional, and career success. The  program also prepares effective leaders, advocates, collaborators, and systems change agents to work in diverse K-12 schools.

Develops highly trained professional who help children and youth succeed academically, behaviorally, emotionally, and socially via prevention and intervention supports. These services are provided to students as well as educators and families who care for them.

Develops community college and university professionals who understand the needs of college students from diverse backgrounds, and collaborate with faculty and campus stakeholders to promote holistic development of students.

Strengthens graduate students’ depth of understanding of service delivery models for individuals with disabilities, develops scholars’ ability to critically examine emerging research and practice to develop high quality intervention programs in special education, and builds future change agents and leaders.
