Counseling

The Community Clinic offers affordable, professional counseling services for adults, couples, and families. These counseling sessions are provided by advanced graduate students in Marriage and Family Therapy, under the supervision of licensed University faculty.  These counseling sessions typically address the following concerns:

  • Depression and anxiety
  • Phobias
  • Traumatic stress
  • Grief and loss
  • Couples and family issues
  • Self-esteem issues
  • Relational concerns
  • Educational concerns

Cost: Counseling services are provided at a low cost ($15.00 per session; 3 sessions minimum). CSULB students receive a 50% fee reduction ($7.50 per session; 3 sessions minimum).
Who: Individuals, families, or couples of all ages.
When: All counseling sessions are held on Mondays or Wednesdays in the late afternoon or evenings. For specific dates and times, please visit our "Services" page and scroll down to see our Clinic flyer.

Although we accept applications year-round, the best time to submit an application is two months before the start date of the service you are interested in. (However, please note that admittance is based on first-come, first-served basis and the level of need). Unfortunately, we cannot accept court-mandated counseling cases because we do not provide sufficient documentation for court regulations.

Application:

For more information on how to apply, please see our "Application Procedure" page.
