Kenneth “Wayne” Scott Memorial Scholarship

Published August 8, 2018

Dr. James Scott, Faculty in Educational Leadership, and his sisters have established an endowed scholarship in memory of their father, Kenneth “Wayne” Scott, an elementary school principal in LAUSD for over 30 years (Taper, Leapwood, Caroldale, San Gabriel Ave schools). Primarily funded by the Scott Family Trust, the total endowment will be in excess of $30,000, including almost $7,000 donated by friends, colleagues, doctoral alumni and family members. In order to qualify for the scholarship, students must be either currently enrolled in or applying to the elementary/secondary Ed.D. program, committed to working with historically marginalized students in urban communities, and also must currently work in Education. The first recipient of the Kenneth “Wayne” Scott Memorial Scholarship will be awarded in Fall 2019.

Information on how to contribute to the Kenneth “Wayne” Scott Memorial Scholarship is available online.
