CED Researchers Awarded CSULB Multidisciplinary Research Grants

Two teams including researchers from the College of Education have been awarded Multidisciplinary Internal Research Grants for the 2017-18 academic year via CSULB’s Office of Research and Sponsored Programs (ORSP). Interim Dean Shireen Pavri is teaming up with Dr. Gail Farmer from the College of Health and Human Services on a project entitled “Retention and Timely Graduation of Students with Disabilities in STEM and other Biomedical Disciplines.” A team of three CED researchers – Dr. Nat Hansuvadha (Special Education), Dr. Jacob Olsen (School Counseling), and Dr. Edwin Achola (Special Education) – will complete a project entitled “Culturally Responsive Multi-tiered Systems of Support in School Counseling and Special Education.” ORSP Internal Research Grants are designed to provide the opportunity for faculty to begin collaborating on a project that will lead to significant external funding.
