CED Counseling Students in Thailand

Published October 10, 2019

During Summer 2019, a group of 21 students from the three counseling programs (Student Development in Higher Education, School Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy (soon to be Counseling Psychology) traveled to Thailand on the challenging, adventurous, and fun study abroad class. This international Cross-Cultural Counseling course (COUN 555) helped students learn more about how the counseling process is conducted outside the U.S. The group visited a K-12 school, university, community center, treatment center, and psychiatric hospital, as well as cultural and historic sites. Students were able to practice mindfulness while they explored, learned, and connected with the local professionals, students, and clients.
