AACSB ssociation to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business International (AACSB) The undergraduate and graduate programs of the College of Business Administration are accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business International (AACSB).

AACSB is one of higher education's most prestigious and rigorous accrediting bodies, stressing academic excellence and a commitment to continuous improvement. Established in 1916, AACSB is the premier accrediting agency for degree programs in business administration worldwide. Meeting the rigorous standards of AACSB is a measure of a school's quality of curriculum, faculty, staff, facilities, students, and strategic planning. Of about 16,000 business programs worldwide, only 740 are accredited by AACSB, of which 149 are outside the U.S. Since 1972, the College of Business Administration has been one of these elite schools. The CBA received re-accreditation in March 2014 and is proud of its accomplishments for faculty qualifications and the assurance of student learning.

Princeton Review Best Business Schools 2016For the seventh year, the Princeton Review has named our MBA program as one of The Best 295 Business Schools in the United States. To be ranked in the top level of schools by the Princeton Review, a school must meet criteria for excellence and also allow the Review to conduct surveys of its students. "We recommend Cal State Long Beach as one of the best institutions a student could attend to earn a business school degree," stated Princeton Review's Senior VP-Publisher Robert Franek. "We chose the schools we profile in this book based on our high regard for their academic programs and our reviews of institutional data we collect from the schools. We also solicit and greatly respect the opinions of students attending these schools who rate and report on their experiences at them on our 80-question student survey for the book." The Princeton Review tallied its list based on surveys of 20,300 students attending the 295 business schools profiled in the book. Our Evening, Day, and Saturday MBA programs enroll students who range from recent college graduates to professionals with many years of experience, from business professionals to those with technical backgrounds, and from local students to those with global backgrounds.

Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC®) The College of Business Administration is an institutional member of the Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC®). GMAC, an association of leading graduate business schools around the world, meets the needs of business schools and students through an array of products, services, and programs, and it serves as a primary resource of information about quality graduate management education. GMAC believes that business and management are critical to the economic and social well-being of people worldwide. GMAC provides information and insights to improve decision making about the discovery and evaluation of talent and to contribute to the effective use of human, natural, and financial resources throughout the world. Worldwide, a total of 200 business schools are GMAC members, of which six are from the University of California system and two are from the California State University system. The CBA is also a member of the MBA Roundtable and the MBA Career Services Council.



Eduniversal Business Schools Ranking Since 2009, the CBA has been recognized by Eduniversal, which is a French company specializing in higher education that was founded in 1994. For 2015, CBA has been awarded Two Palms for our undergraduate program, and is ranked second in North America in the Good Business School (Two Palm) category. Eduniversal's goal is to provide students around the world with information about the Best 1,000 Business Schools in 154 countries over nine regions across five continents. Eduniversal rankings reflect the international dimension of each school and enables students to make the best decision regarding where to pursue their education. Eduniversal Palms indicate the level of international reputation and are awarded by a twelve-member International Scientific Committee that compiles the list of criteria and includes assessments made by business school Deans. At the Master's level for 2015, our Accelerated MBA program (AMBA) has been awarded Two Palms and ranks 40th in North America while our MBA specialization in Human Resource Management has been awarded Three Palms and ranks 19th in North America.

Carnegie Foundation for the Advance Community Engagement Classification The Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching has chosen Cal State Long Beach to receive the 2015 Community Engagement Classification. The university is one of only 361 institutions to achieve this distinction. This is an elective classification for which colleges and universities with an established focus on service within the community may apply. The classification application requires data collection and the documentation of relevant engagement elements in the university's mission, identity and commitments. It also requires proof of a significant effort on the part of the institution to invest in community service. The Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching is committed to developing networks of ideas, individuals and institutions to advance teaching and learning. It brings together scholars, practitioners and designers in new ways to solve problems of educational practice.

California Prospector Award The CBA is the only California business school to have received the California Prospector Award. The Prospector Award is the second level of recognition of the California Awards for Performance Excellence. These honors are based on the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award, which is the country's highest recognition of organizational excellence in business, education, and health care. Receiving this award signifies that the CBA's commitment to quality, continuous improvement, and performance excellence, is reflected not only in our educational programs and offerings, but also in our organizational systems and processes.
