INFORMATION ABOUT THE CENTER


Our Mission:

The Southeast Asian Studies Center was established in 1997 to develope and promote research and instructional activities at CSULB in the area of Southeast Asian and Southeast Asian communities. In order to achieve this purpose, the Center will:
  1. Promote research at CSULB on Southeast Asian and Southeast Asian Communities;
  2. Promote collaborative research projects between CSULB and educational institutions in Southeast Asia;
  3. Promote cultural exchanges;
  4. Develop training projects with particular relevance to the needs of Southeast Asians;
  5. Assist in the establishment and facilitation of study-abroad programs in conjunction with the Center for International Education;
  6. Serve as an iformation source for CSULB faculty and students who wish to pursue research in Southeast Asia or who may want to participate in a collaborative project with faculty or students from a Southeast Asian institution.
