The Health Coach/Community Health Worker will provide Asthma Education as part of
the Asthma Team on the Mobile Clinic. This position will also conduct home visitations
to assess for asthma triggers in the home and provide education on how to mitigate
the triggers, if found. Therefore this position will not only work closely with the Mobile
Clinic Asthma Team but also the Respiratory Therapist(s) who are providing services and
follow-up to ER patients who come in with respiratory problems. There will be other

California Endowment (Oakland, California)

Organization Overview
CASA of Los Angeles supports volunteers who help abused and neglected foster children in the court and the community. A CASA, or Court Appointed Special Advocate, is a trained and supervised volunteer, appointed by a judge to advocate in the best interest of a foster child. CASA of Los Angeles actively recruits, trains and screens these volunteers.

Overview of Program Position
CASA/LA’s Monterey Park office is seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to coach and support
CASA volunteers, ensuring the highest level of advocacy for the appointed children of each CASA. The Program
Supervisor will share the passion for CASA/LA's mission and will demonstrate a positive attitude at all times.

Duties and Responsibilities
§ Coach and support CASA coordinators (volunteers that coach and supervise other volunteers) and CASA volunteers through consultation, problem solving, feedback, guidance, coaching, evaluations, motivation, training and mentoring.
§ Be available to provide guidance on emerging issues and/or crisis to assigned CASA’s.
§ Assist with development of case plans and provide feedback to related CASA
§ Review monthly activity logs
§ Gather feedback on CASA’s performance via meetings or phone contacts with placement (foster parent, group home) social workers, attorneys etc.
§ Review, edit and submit CASA’s court reports in accordance with program procedures.
§ Provide support and guidance to CASA’s prior to and during court hearings as needed
§ Ma intain updates on waitlisted children’s status. Facilitate matching child with an advocate as soon as possible.
§ Ensure case related information in database is accurate and current.
§ Follow identified protocol for appropriate level of involvement with the child.
§ Participate with screening/interviewing of potential volunteer advocates and CASA coordinators.
§ Participate in trainings of coordinators and volunteers.
§ Travel required on an as-needed basis, including occasional evening and weekend work.
§ Other duties as assigned.

Candidate Qualifications Required
§ Bachelor’s degree in a related field
§ Experience in the field of child welfare, juvenile law, non-profit or volunteer program management.
§ At least 2 years’ experience working in a supervisory position
§ Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment.
§ Highly proficient in MS Office with a minimum typing speed of 40 wpm.
§ Exceptional oral and written communication skills
§ Excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task.
§ Ability to work and make decisions independently and to be highly resourceful.

Preferred
§ Experience in Early Childhood Development (Birth – 12 years old)
§ Experience in conducting trainings on Early Childhood Development

This position is part of the Research Grants Program Office (RGPO) within the Office of Research and Graduate Studies (ORGS). The RGPO consists of several grant-giving programs that are administered by the University for the University of California or on behalf of the State of California. The primary focus of Embrace over the past three years has been development, manufacturing, and testing of an innovative infant warmer device. The Program Manager acts as a staff contact and a spokesperson for TCE’s ongoing campaign for a greater emphasis on healthy communities. Project Coordinator needed to work on study involving Post-Incarcerated African American Men who have Sex with Men and Women. Previous experience with incarcerated or substance abusing populations, educational interventions, and HIV/AIDS are necessary. Previous research project coordination experience preferred. Although most work will not be done in incarcerated settings, ability to pass jail clearance is required. This is a contracted 12-18 month position, with possibility of extension, funding permitting.

* Manage and track study recruitment activities conducted by the Center for Health Justice's staff in Los Angeles County's Men's Central Jail

* Build relationships with staff from the Center for Health Justice, Los Angeles County Men's Jail and the Parole and Probation Departments, and from local service organizations for the purposes of study recruitment

* Administer study screening tool to determine eligibility of potential participants.

In addition, the Program Coordinator has on occasion assumed the responsibilities of other HJ MILE project staff. These responsibilities have included:

* Give presentations at organizations and other potential recruitment sites.

* Conduct street and jail outreach

* Completion of Center for Health Justice's post incarcerated services assessments that are required for the study participants.

* Completion of research study's oral consent and locator information inside the men's county jail.

 

Reporting to the Vice President of Program Services, the Director of the CSRHP is responsible for programmatic leadership and management of the Center including adequate staffing and oversight, development and monitoring of the Center’s budget, leadership in resource development planning and program implementation, overseeing program implementation, identifying/ implementing/ monitoring adherence to policies and business practices, and collaborating with/providing expertise to the management team of the Program Services Division and ETR. This role includes overall management and support of the CSRHP, facilitating requests of other units of ETR, representing the Center at division and agency level meetings, and conducting, and implementing strategic planning for the CSRHP as well as monitoring progress.

 

The Program Manager will oversee the scheduling, implementing, and problem-solving around the Digital Learning Program and manage school relations for approximately 15 schools. The Program Manager will work closely with a team of Program Managers and Program Coordinators and directly report to a Lead Program Manager.

 

The program officer position, makes grants to expand preschool access and improve preschool quality for 3- and 4-year old children in California and promote positive youth development through after-school and summer programs The Program Officer will report to Jeff Sunshine, Program Officer and Manager who will guide the work of a vibrant program team.

 

Under the supervision of the Project Director, the Counselor will work with high-risk gay/bisexual men, other men who have sex with men, and transgender women, primarily in Hollywood, West Hollywood, and Downtown Los Angeles. The Counselor will conduct field outreach to locate and identify participants, and field and site-based motivational interviewing counseling sessions, including counseling sessions in commercial sex venues such as bathhouses.
