Workforce Development

Introduction

Labor studies are a major focus of Center for Career Studies' (CCS) research, spanning a range of programs and technical expertise. Center staff has served in many roles in employment and training programs, conducted research, assisted in policy and program development, and provided technical assistance to State and local programs. Staff often work directly with State agencies to access confidential databases for analytic purposes. Briefings, workshops, analytic reports, and capacity building are typical products of the Center's work.

Currently Center staff is working in the following areas

  • Employment Training Panel Funding
  • National Skill Standards
  • Youth Training and Employment
  • School to Work
  • One Stop Career Centers
  • Job Training Partnership Act (JTPA)
  • Health Care Demonstration Project
  • Southern California Regional Demonstration Project
  • Rehabilitation Training
  • North American Free Trade Agreement
  • Trade Readjustment Act
  • PIC Aerospace Network

Staff brings a depth of knowledge of employment and training programs and issues because of their involvement in programs that have evolved into present-day initiatives, such as:
