History The Center for Career Studies (CCS), founded in 1972, is a research, development, professional and technical services organization. Housed in the College of Health and Human Services of California State University, Long Beach, the Center is dedicated to fulfilling client requirements by providing quality-oriented solutions. Activities of the Center in the last fifteen years have included: design and implementation in all areas of Job Training Partnership Act programs; labor demand vocational training programs; on and off-site customized computer training; bilingual instructor training programs; customized vocational English as a second language program; marshalling services and out placement centers for employers to assist employees during right-sizing; and programs to prepare Asian language teachers for public teaching. The Center for Career Studies employs between 30 and 40 experienced professionals in multiple teams at several different locations. The teams include: Workforce Development, Research and Evaluation, and Organizational Consulting. |
