Certified Nursing Assistant/Home Health Aide

Course Description

The CNA/HHA program provides classroom and clinical training for individuals with limited English proficiency. Participants are also prepared for the State exam and to obtain full-time work within the health care industry. The demand for CNA/HHA, especially those who are bi-lingual, is rising due to the increased number of elderly requiring care and the growing population of various ethnic groups. As a result, it is estimated that over 15,000 CNA/HHA jobs will be created in CA beyond the year 2000.

The course includes orientation, medical examination, basic skills asessment tests, textbooks, instruction, classroom training, hands-on clinical training, job preparation workshops and placement assistance. Students who pass the state exam will receive state certification.
