Carol Itatani, Ph.D.

Dr. Itatani is a Professor in the Department of Biological Sciences, where she teaches MICR 323 (Hematology) and MICR 430 (Immunology). She is a licenced Medical Technologist and maintains licensure with the California State Dept. of Health, laboratory Field Services and the American Society of Clinical Pathology.

 

Norma Shipp, M.S., MT (ASCP)

Norma Shipp is the Phlebotomy Supervisor and Coordinator of Central Processing of the Clinical Laboratory, St. Mary Medical Center. Ms. Shipp has a M.S. in Clinical Laboratory Sciences and maintains her licensure in Medical Technology.

 

Kevin Malotte, DrPH

Dr. C. Kevin Malotte is the newly appointed Archstone Endowed Chair and Director of the Center for Health Care Innovation. He was previously Professor of Health Science and Director of the Community Health and Social Epidemiology (CHASE) Programs at CSULB. He is currently the principal investigator on two CDC-funded studies, one an STD prevention study, and one working with volunteer community health leaders designed to examine factors that keep these volunteers productive and satisfied with their roles. He holds a BA in psychology from Chapman College, an MA in social psychology from Claremont Graduate School, and an MPH and DrPH from the UCLA School of Public Health.

 

Philip S. Chong, Ph.D.

Dr. Chong is a Professor for the Department of Management/Human Resources Management at California State University, Long Beach. He has number of years of experience in the field of Engineering and Operations Research. He also has a certification in Production and Inventory Management. He has been awarded the SCAC Award for Modeling Total Quality Management (TQM) Economics. Dr. Chong holds a M.S. and a Ph.D. in Engineering and Operations Research from the University of Massachusetts.

 

Vincent Del Casino, Jr., Ph.D.

Dr. Del Casino is an Associate Professor in the Department of Geography and Liberal Studies at California State University, Long Beach. Previous to this, he was a lecturer for the College of Arts and Sciences and the department of Geography at University of Kentucky. He has also served as an advisor for Human Rights Committee of the Coalition of AIDS-related NGOs in N. Thailand. Dr. Del Casino holds a M.S. degree from the University of Wisconsin and a Ph.D. from the University of Kentucky.

 

Scott Hershberger, Ph.D.

Dr. Hershberger is an Associate Professor of Psychology at the California State University, Long Beach. He holds a Ph.D. in Psychometrics from the Fordham University, Bronx, NY and a Post-Doc in Statistics from the Pennsylvania State University, University Park.

 

Jack W. Hou, Ph.D.

Dr. Hou is a Professor at California State University, Long Beach. He is also a Research Professor at the Chinese Institute of Industrial Economics, Taiwan. He has been awarded a number of grants, including the Sino-West Cultural Exchange Grant from the Fujen Catholic University, Taiwan. Dr. Hou holds a M.A., M.Phil., and a Ph.D. in Economics from the Yale University.

 

Alexander Rainof, Ph.D.

Dr. Rainof is a Professor in the Department of Romance, German, Russian Languages & Literature, California State University, Long Beach. He is the founder of the Translation/Interp. Prog., English-Spanish/Spanish-English, UCLA/UNEX. He is the Vice-President of the Society for the Study of Translation and Interpretation (SSTI) of the National Assoc. of Judiciary Interpreters and Translators (NAJIT). He has won the CSULB University Education Innovation Award, Faculty Career Enhancement Award and the CSULB SCAC Research Award. Dr. Rainof holds a Ph.D. from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.

Christine L. Jocoy, Ph.D.

Dr. Jocoy is an Assistant Professor for the Department of Geography at California State University, Long Beach. She received her Ph.D. from Pennsylvania State University in 2004. Her research interests include regional economic development, urban social policy, and geography education. Dr. Jocoy is co-principal investigator of a METRANS grant, based out of CBRS, studying the movement patterns of Long Beach's homeless.

William Pedersen, Ph.D.

Dr. Pedersen is an Associate Professor for the Department of Psychology at California State University, Long Beach. He holds a M.A. degree in Social Psychology from the University of Southern California, and a Ph.D. in Social Psychology from the University of Southern California. Dr. Pedersen's research has focused on two areas of interest: displaced aggression and an evolutionary perspective on gender differences in mating strategies. 


Jeffrey P. Davis, Ph.D.

Dr. Davis is an Assistant Professor for the Department of Sociology at California State University, Long Beach. He holds a M.A. degree and a Ph.D. from the North Carolina Central University. Dr. Davis's research interests include racial and ethnic inequality in U.S. labor markets, minority health and social psychology of inequality.
