Your Mentorship Helped CSULB BUILD Scholars Earn Honors at ABRCMS

Congratulations to BUILD Research Mentors whose Scholars earned awards at the 15th Annual Biomedical Research Conference for Minority Students (ABRCMS) in Seattle last month.  They are Jennifer Ostergren (Scholar Matthew Argame), Michael Schramm (Scholar Lori Digal) and Jason Schwans (Scholar Nicholas Nieto).

Workshop: Choosing Technology for Learning

Upcoming faculty training workshops will focus on "Choosing Technology for Learning." They will be offered on Dec. 9 from 12-1 pm & on Dec. 10 from 5-6 pm. CSUPERB Requests for Proposals

The 2016 CSUPERB Requests for Proposals for New Investigator, Research Development, Entrepreneurial Joint Venture Matching and Curriculum Development Grant Programs are now open! All proposals are due Monday, Feb. 1, 2016 by 5:00 p.m. For information about these programs please go to http://www.calstate.edu/csuperb/grants/.  The CSUPERB President's Commission Scholar Program is also accepting applications at http://www.calstate.edu/csuperb/grants/presidents-commission/. Deadline is Feb. 10, 2016 at 5:00 pm.

Funding Opportunities for BUILD Mentors

Don't forget the upcoming funding opportunities available to BUILD mentors. Visit /build/institutional-development/apply to submit requests for the small equipment and computers award and the Spring 2016 collaborative and research stimulation awards (CRSGs and RSGs). Deadline is Feb. 29, 2016 at 5:00 pm.

Junior Faculty: Summer Training Program Available

The Program to Increase Diversity for individuals Engaged in health-related research (PRIDE) is offering an all expenses paid summer training program for Junior Faculty. Time to Recommend Students for Summer BUILD, MARC U*START and RISE Programs

It may seem early, but when the spring semester begins the BUILD, MARC U*STAR and RISE programs will be recruiting students to join the cohorts starting in the summer of 2016.  It’s never too early to recommend that students check out the programs at the information sessions that will be held starting early in the spring semester.
