Imagine BEACH 2030 will take place on November 14 – 15, 2018.
This will be an interactive 2-day online public event. The event can be joined virtually using any mobile device, laptop, or desktop. You can sign in using your Facebook, Twitter or email account. Anyone - students, faculty, staff, community members, alumni, business and civic leaders can and should participate.
Our campus is taking a non-traditional approach during these two days to spark engagement around collectively thinking about our future. This is the first time in Cal State Long Beach’s history that this much campus and local engagement have ever been possible. Really anyone, anywhere can engage online.
The goal is creating a place for people to express their hopes and fears, concerns and constructive ideas about the future - hopefully this empowers everyone to engage more actively with present-day issues.
We are encouraging our campus to take advantage of these two days and encourage participation. As one possibility, professors might spend some time with their classes having an open dialogue with computers to participate. Business owners on 2nd Street can share input they believe is helpful to the campus. Alumni may comment and engage with ideas that are being expressed. The possibilities for interaction are endless, and the more people who take part, the better!
If you have any ideas, we encourage you to reach out and share them with us.
