The mission of the California State University, Long Beach
Alumni Association is to:
- assist and advance the Alumni in their pursuit of excellence
- assist and advance the University in the pursuit of excellence,
- continue the friendships formed in the University,
- build strong and mutually beneficial ties between the University
and its diverse alumni,
- promote good will in the community, and
- create a dynamic alumni program which will stimulate interest,
build loyalty, increase involvement, and generate support
for the University.
GOALS:
- Provide a structure to plan, manage, and evaluate alumni-sponsored
events and/or special contributions to the University.
- Communicate with alumni on a regular basis to increase
pride in the University and make alumni aware of the University's
strengths, qualities, concerns, and needs.
- Develop a volunteer structure which maximizes alumni
participation and encourages decision making in alumni-related
programs and services to the community.
- Provide opportunities for alumni and friends to experience
intellectual growth and interaction with the faculty, administration,
and students.
- Encourage alumni participation in educational, athletic,
and cultural activities.
- Educate current students about the benefits of the
Alumni Association through programs and services.
- Assist the University in constructively shaping the
future while maintaining an historical perspective of traditions.
- Assist the general operation of the Alumni Association
by generating additional funds.
- Utilize technology to enhance the goals and purposes
of the Alumni Association and the University.
- Assist the University in keeping the community informed
of pertinent information germane to the growth and development
of the University.
- Support the University's strategic plans.
