49er Shops Inc. Vacation Time Policies
Vacation: The Corporation grants employees annual paid vacation to provide a substantial period of rest and relaxation each year. It is policy of the Forty-Niner Shops, Inc. that all administrative and staff employees take at least one half of the vacation time that they accrue each year. The maximum accumulation of vacation hours permitted to be carried over at the beginning of each fiscal year is 384 hours(48 days). If employees accrue vacation time in excess of this amount, their unit manager will help them schedule vacation time so that the excessive vacation hours may be used. The Corporation should permit use of vacation benefits. If the employee is not allowed to used accrued vacation, compensation will be provided.
I. Eligibility:
A. All administrative and staff employees are eligible to receive vacation with pay. Temporary and student employees are not eligible.
B. Employees become eligible for vacation after one pay period. Vacation time is taken at the discretion of, and with the advanced approval of, the unit manager. As much as possible, scheduling of vacation swill be done by a consensus of the work group in each department, with respect given to the requirements of the department as determined by the unit manager and the General Manager. When a work group is unable to come to a mutual agreement, seniority will be a consideration, but the unit manager will make the final decision in all matters regarding the scheduling of vacations. If an employee is asked to work a scheduled vacation day, other vacation time will be scheduled in lieu of it.
