New Campaign Promotes Students

Published August 28, 2015

You’re a Long Beach State student and you have the skills and drive employers want.

Throughout the academic year, the center hosts free professional development workshops, career related programs and events, and networking opportunities for you to connect with employers.

Thanks to the CSULB Career Development Center, you now have a new social media avenue to promote yourself to prospective employers — #hireLongBeachState.

“Employers have declared our campus as their college of choice and they want to #hireLongBeachState,” said center director Manuel Perez. “So our goal is to showcase you — our students — to employers, in your various roles as club leaders, class project leaders, team players, volunteers, attending events, etc. Follow us on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram or Pinterest and share your pictures showcasing your many talents using the hashtag #hireLongBeachState.

The center is also collaborating with Mayor Robert Garcia’s new Long Beach Internship Challenge initiative that encourages city businesses and organizations to take on student interns in paid or academic credit positions.

You can view postings for part-time jobs, full-time jobs and internships as well as sign up for workshops and events through your CareerLINK account.
