CSULB Alumni Awarded

The National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship Program recognizes and supports outstanding graduate students in NSF-supported science, technology, engineering and mathematics disciplines who are pursuing research-based Master's and doctoral degrees at accredited United States institutions.

The NSF receives about 16,000 applications a year, and there are generally a handful of the 2000 awarded each year to CSULB alumni. This year there are five recipients that got their start at CSULB.

CSULB Alumni Recipients:

Gina Carol Marie Oliver, Geosciences—Geobiology. Currently at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.

Susan Gil, Life Sciences—Neurosciences. Currently at University of California, Irvine.

Kristin Marie Privitera-Johnson, Geosciences—Marine Biology.

Armando Enriquez Reimer, Life Sciences—Biophysics. Currently at University of California, Berkeley.

Michael Anthony Trujillo, Psychology. Currently at Virginia Commonwealth University.
