Farber, dean of students emeritus, and his wife, alumna Patricia Farber, along with members and alumni of the Beach Crew Team, attended the Nov. 13 Long Beach Fall Collegiate Invitation Regatta to christen the team's newest racing shell, a Vespoli4+ named the "Dr. Stuart L. Farber," which was restored by community and team volunteers. 

Photo of Gerald LocklinGerald Locklin, professor emeritus of English, had his book The Vampires Saved Civilization: Selected Prose, 2000-2010 published by World Parade Books in 2010. Locklin is one of the authors featured in Tequila Tales, a collection of stories unified by the presence of tequila. Locklin has also held readings from his latest books at the December literary event “After the Carnival” in Long Beach, Beyond Baroque in Venice on Feb. 11 and at Skylight Books in Los Feliz on Feb. 19.
